Bloodhunt has been in Early Access for just over a week now and we will continue to optimize systems, adapt to how cheaters are trying to abuse the game and develop Bloodhunt together with the community. This is true for most anti-cheat software out there.Ĭheating in multiplayer games is sadly rampant today and many major online games use kernel level anti-cheat to protect the players form abuse. It does this because cheats often operate on that level too and so any counter-measure needs to be on the same level. Bloodhunt uses an anti-cheat that operates on the kernel level of your PC, at the core of the computers operating system. When the game initially debuted in Early Access, players quickly noticed that the games anti-cheat remained active when they closed the game. We only collect data related to Bloodhunt and we do not share that data with anyone unrelated to the operation of the game. The original issue with the anti-cheat software was attributed to two specific bugs, which have now largely been dealt with. This has also been confirmed by the community member who discovered the issue. The anti-cheat in the game is just that, an anti-cheat. They have both been fixed and patched since. These two problems were connected and classified as bugs by the development team. A few files were also left on the hard-drive after uninstall of the game. The rumor started after a community member discovered that the anti-cheat application was sometimes running for a short while after the game was shut down (for up to 90 seconds). The allegation of Bloodhunts anti-cheat software being spyware surfaced a few days ago - and it is simply false. By posting these types of unfounded reviews and discussions, you are potentially putting in jeopardy the work of more than 150 people who poured their sweat and blood into making Bloodhunt the game we are proud to call our first baby. Not only is it false, but it is also damaging to our first game, Bloodhunt, and our studio Sharkmob. This has been demonstrated in many articles already. Unfortunately, the game could be DOA because of that one guy and some sheep who followed him who saw some glimmer of plausability in the statement. We felt obligated to post this statement here as well for further visibility. People are easy to freak out when things don't go the way it should be and they hop into conclusions, but it's easily understandable why this is a thing people are talking about The anticheat not uninstalling is a glitch on the AC uninstaller - a Sharkmob dev clarified the issue and they have already pushed a patch to fix it. They connected the dots and started assuming that it was spyware. This anti cheat just runs whenever you boot your system.īecause the company doesn't have any reputation yet and the game is free on steam. This isn't an anti cheat like EAC or Battleye - They only run when you launch the game The anti cheat doesn't uninstall itself after uninstalling the game- It can't be detected by an anti virus because it doesn't run on a user level They when they uninstalled the game, they noticed that the AC is still running - then instantly assumed it was spyware as it runs on ring 0 They probably asked "Why does a free to play game on STEAM - with its own anti cheat - with no competitive scene need Ring 0 rights ?" Ring 0 is access to EVERYTHING on your system without needing to ask for any other permission. The anticheat runs on Ring 0 - Kernel level Okay so pretty much it started with someone who has some computer knowledge and fixated on a thing.
